New foot rig for the Zinpia RP Base to support feet interactions and animations.

This is created to support animations and PhysBone interactions for the ZinPia RP base's foot. Additional bones are added for toe joint and ball flexing. Knowledge of Blender (armature, data transfer) and Unity (avatar setup) is necessary.

There are two methods of setup depending on your avatar rig: Method A (bone replacement) and Method B (no replacement). I recommend using Method A since this is what I use and animations will be supported for it. Method B exists for those that have a unique bone names, doesn't care about animations, or wants to avoid removing bones in general.

  • v2.x.x rig avoids replacing or removing your existing foot bones. This works better if you have non-default bone names, socks, and shoes. If you want the most efficient setup I still recommend v.1.x.x.
  • Updated instructions to account for Low Poly and Blender versions.

  • Use VLC (https://www.videolan.org/) if you cannot play the setup video
  • If you want to use Low Poly RP Body make sure the set the Data Transfer > Topology Mapping > Max Distance to 0.1. This is because the mesh is slightly different and we want to isolate the weights during the transfer.
  • The rig relies on ZinPia's default naming conventions (Foot.L, Toe.L, etc). If the armature is named differently then you may need to adjust my bone names to match them. Additionally, if you have socks or shoes the weights might be lost after transfer. I'll investigate if there is an alternate approach to reducing the impact on existing weights and simplify the setup process.
  • If you are using an older version of Blender (2.9) to do the Datatransfer the resulting weight might be incorrect. Please use the latest Blender version (4.0).
